Anyway, to get back to our discussion of LEDs and their usefulness, let’s take a look at two widely differing product lines – Chauvet and Selador.
Chauvet got themselves into the marketplace making affordable DJ effects, and over the past few years has really stepped up the quality of their products. Their flagship product in the LED world is the ColoRado 1, a 3-color LED PAR can replacement that had taken the lighting world by storm thanks to its affordability and reliability. The ColoRado 1 is a reliable, bright unit that can be had for around $500 each, a nice price point, especially in the LED market. The lights aren’t quite bright enough to replace a 1,000W PAR 64 in most applications, but can certainly serve as a more=than-adequate replacement for 500W PAR
